Scooby Doo Party

Scooby Doo Party Ideas & Decorations

Begin with Scooby Doo themed party supplies, such as plates, cups and napkins. Decorate with spooky items such as mummies and monsters on the walls and ghosts hanging from the ceiling. Use monster masks or skeleton skulls as centerpieces and add gummy worms or plastic bugs on the tables as confetti. And try these great Skull Balloons. And also this Spider Balloon!

A Scooby Doo party isn't complete without a Haunted Mansion. Drape white sheets over the furniture and spread cobwebs throughout to make the party area look haunted. Hang bats from the ceiling and a few rats on the floor won't hurt.

Either draw a picture or purchase a poster of The Mystery Machine and hang on the wall. Put posters of Scooby and his friends on the walls and door.

Using brown construction paper cut out paw prints and put them in your driveway leading to your front door.

Hand out Scooby ears as party hats. To make these ears you will need the following:

Plastic head band

Super Glue

Brown construction paper

Pink Construction paper

1) Cut the brown construction paper to look like ears, 2) cut the pink construction paper to look like smaller ears (this will be the inner ear), 3) Glue the pink small ear on top of the brown larger ear (the pink should be positioned to look like the inner ear) to make an ear, 4) glue 2 ears on each headband paced apart to look like Scooby's ears.

Or if you're not the creative type purchase these Scooby Ears.

A birthday party isn't complete without balloons and streamers. Scooby is all about retro so green, yellow and purple balloons will work or you can go spooky and do black balloons.

Goodie Bag Ideas: Use bright colored bags and add Scooby Doo graham snacks, fruit snacks, Scooby Doo coloring book, DVD or story books. And for some added scary fun try these great Skull Rings!

Scooby Doo Party Activities

Malt Shop Madness - Set up a station where the kids can create their own malts. Provide ice cream, soda, a variety of candy and whipped cream. Have the kids use clear plastic cups to make the floats in.

Mystery Hunt - Hide Scooby Snacks around the party area and have the kids find them. Use dog biscuits (if children are young and would eat them use something else that is age appropriate). Give a prize to the child that collects the most Scooby Snacks.

Scooby Doo Party Pack

Mummy Race - Divide the children into teams and give each team a couple of rolls of toilet paper. Have each team pick 1 person to be a mummy and have them race to wrap the mummy in toilet paper. The team that finishes first wins a prize.

Disappearing Daphne - Prior to the party purchase a poster of Daphne. Reinforce the back by taping a piece of cardboard to the back. Divide the children into 2 teams then tell the children they have to find Daphne. Give them clues either pre-written or hot and cold.

Velma's Glasses - Choose someone to be Velma. Then have all the other kids sit in a circle. Have Velma close her eyes and give one child a pair of plastic glasses (Velma's glasses). Tell the child to keep the glasses hidden or he can pass them to other guests but be careful cause Velma is watching. Then have Velma figure out who has the glasses. Whoever gets caught with the glasses is the next Velma.
